SAFE AND SOUND CITIES
S²Cities: Young people transforming the course of their cities 🚀
We don't just inhabit the city: we reimagine it. S²Cities (Safe and Sound Cities) is a global program that drives well-being and urban safety by putting power in the hands of those who know the territory best: young people aged 15 to 24.
The program is funded by Global Infrastructure Basel (GIB) and implemented locally by the consortium made up of Huasipichanga, Integrar, Fundación Amaru, and Fundación TANDEM, in ongoing coordination with the municipalities of Cuenca and Ambato.
In Ecuador, Huasipichanga actively applies the program in two cities: Cuenca and Ambato, with the support of local governments, institutions, the private sector, community agents, and young people.
Together, we will create platforms for the meaningful participation of young people in the ideation and implementation of solutions to the challenges of safety and inclusion.
Our route to change
Step 1
Understand the system🔍: We analyze how the city works from the perspective of young people's experience.
Step 2
Build capacities💪: We train the urban experts of the future.
Step 3
Foster innovation✨: We co-create disruptive projects for public space.
Step 4
Adapt the system📈: We turn ideas into permanent changes for the city.
