The Streets for Kids program aims to enhance the well-being of children living in urban areas. To achieve this, GDCI inspires leaders, educates practitioners, and empowers communities to perceive cities from the perspective of children and their caregivers. The program encourages action on the streets to ensure a cleaner, healthier, and safer future.
Huasipichanga, with strong support from the neighboring school Pinceles y Margaritas, as well as the school staff, students, and the local community, carried out an intervention on the street named Calle Gabriela Mistral y General Artigas in Cuenca. The project involved partnerships with the municipality, specifically the departments of DGM (Direcion de Gestion de Movilidad) and EMOV (Empresa Publica de Movilidad, Transito y Transporte).
