Urban Pedagogy + Active Mobility
TTCC aims to raise awareness about urban planning by involving students in their first and second year of high school (Bachillerato), through methodologies of co-creation, urban design, and the creation of public spaces. It is a pilot project between the urban consultancy Huasipichanga and the Nuestra Familia School, with the support of the General Directorate of Mobility of the Municipality of Cuenca; committed to and convinced that it is possible to achieve the transformation of public spaces into environments that hold social meaning and that seek to enhance the physical and environmental health of the community, with special care for its youngest inhabitants.
TTCC is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of designing spaces that support the mobility of everyone, as well as to empower citizens —and in this case, especially young people and their representatives— to transform shared spaces. We see this project as part of a long-term strategy to improve public space in Cuenca, with special attention to "inclusion and safety as a form of participation." The main areas of work will be: alternative mobility and urban pedagogy.
