Viviana Cordero is co-founder of Huasipichanga. Her work is focused on planning cities hand in hand with children. She is a lawyer and urban planning specialist driven by the idea of achieving intergenerational justice. Currently, she is based in the Netherlands where she does her PhD. in child-friendly cities at the Faculty of Spatial Sciences at the University of Groningen. Her academic experience includes being a lecturer of Sustainable Urban Development in the Urban Planning Master Programme at the Catholic University of Quito and a guest lecturer on several universities worldwide.

She is also a leader and member of several networks like PlacemakingX, Placemaking Europe Kids, Trust in Play European School of Urban Game Design, and environmental activists collectives in Ecuador. She is been part of various conferences and workshops worldwide including TEDx speaker. 

Viviana has been the project manager of the two editions of the Real Play City Challenge, and currently she has the role of Director in the Safe and Sound Cities implementation projects led by Huasipichanga in Ecuador.

Viviana Cordero es cofundadora de Huasipichanga. Su trabajo se centra en la planificación de ciudades de la mano de los niños y niñas. Es abogada y urbanista impulsada por la idea de lograr la justicia intergeneracional. 

Actualmente, vive en los Países Bajos, donde realiza su doctorado. en ciudades amigas con la infancia en la Facultad de Ciencias Espaciales de la Universidad de Groningen. Su experiencia en la academia incluye ser profesora de Desarrollo Urbano Sostenible en la Maestría de Urbanismo de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Quito (PUCE) y profesora invitada de varias universidades a nivel mundial.

También es líder y miembro de varias redes como PlacemakingX, Placemaking Europe Kids, Trust in Play European School of Urban Game Design y colectivos de activistas ambientales en Ecuador. Ha presentado su trabajo en varias conferencias a nivel mundial, incluyendo como speaker TEDx.

Viviana fue la project manager de las dos ediciones del Real Play City Challenge y actualmente tiene el rol de Directora de los proyectos de Safe and Sound Cities que Huasipichanga lidera en Ecuador como implementador local.
